This was released to pay tribute to the man who created modern Black Metal. I am speaking, of course, of Euronymous, who was murdered on the night of the 10th August 1993 by former friend, Varg Vikernes. What we have here is an absolutely stunning compilation of some of the underground's most well respected artists. The CD is over 70 minutes in length, and contains many unreleased tracks. For example, Emperor's 'Moon Over Kara-Shehr' is a rehersal from 1992, and Mortiis ccomposed the outro especially for this tribute. Needless to say, this CD kicks ass big time! Any true Black Metal enthusiast worth his salt needs to be in possession of this album, as it is a final salute to the genius of Euronymous, and as stated by many artists in the excellent CD booklet, without his hard work and struggling, there would be no Black Metal today. This is one of those 'must have' albums. A timeless classic!
