This second offering from Austria's Abigor is very interesting. Rather than being an album, it is supposed
to be a tale of the life of a Pagan warrior, from his birth, through battle and ending with his death. In the usual Abigor style,
the drumming is out of this world. Also, the instrumentals which separate some tracks are used to a good effect. As a concept album,
everything fits together perfectly, meaning you can relate to what the music is trying to say.
The only problem is, is that clocking up just over 25 minutes in length, things are over rather
too quickly. However, it still remains, in my opinion, one of the best Black Metal albums ever released. Abigor have shown that
they are a band to be taken seriously. This is a short piece of genius from three musical masters. To really understand the
praising that I am giving this album, you will just have to buy it.

This is a superb album from Austria, which along with the usual Black
Metal style of music, contains some excellent female vocals which complement the style well, which is totally different to the brutal style of 'Orkblut'.
The music is fast and furious, with some absolutely stunning drums once again, complemented by ferocious guitar mayhem.
The lyrics are meaningful, not a norse woodland or a wintry mountain can bee seen, and on the lyric sheet for the opening song, a message is written, saying that the song should not be seen as part of the upcomming Viking trend.
I recommend this album to everyone, as Abigor, well being cloaked in secrecy, are up there with the best.

The follow up to the popular 'Nachthymnen...' sees Abigor taking on a different approach to things. The album is split into two sections, with the first four tracks being relevant to the first section, and the next four tracks being of a different style to the first four and relevant to the second section. This is a well-planned album, and the music is of its usual high quality and incredible speed, but there is something missing from this album. Maybe I will find out what it is one day, but for now, I am still wondering. There is nothing at all wrong with the music, and this is a superb album from the Austrian studio-recluses, but I am still left thinking that something could have been added to make this album a stunner.
