Marduk's first full length, released way back in 1992 I think. The music on here could be described as Blackened Death Metal. The music is a Death/Black mixture, with Andreas screaming over the top of it all. The production could have been better, and so could the layout of the CD sleeve (why have the same picture twice?), but this is an enjoyable album. Nothing like Marduk of today, however, as back then they were mid-paced which sometimes went pretty fast, but when you hear what Fredrik comes out with on drums, and compare it to back then, you will see what I mean. Good stuff, but not as good as today's Marduk.

This is Marduk's third full-length offering. It is the usual Marduk style of doing things, which is very fast
music with some amazing drumming by Frederik, while Joakim screams away in time to it all. Personally, I like this album a lot. Materialized in stone is a great song, and Opus Nocturne is a new version of Shut Up And Suffer from the Fuck Me Jesus demo, performed by none other than IT from Abruptum! This is a first class, well performed
album, and if you like your music fast and aggressive, then you should love this album.

Wow! This is too good to be a demo! Originally this was released back in 1991, and then re-released in 1994.
The sound quality of this recording is first class. It seems like you are listening to a mini album rather than a demo, the
quality and layout is so good. The Marduk of 1991 are completely different from the Marduk of today. Back then, they
were slower and with different, almost death-metal style vocals. The guitar sound is very low-pitched and sounds as evil
as hell itself. Also, the intro, taken from 'The Exorcist', is a great way to begin a demo.
The demo may be only 15 mins in length, but it is so good, it just has to be given full marks.

Sweden's fastest band return with the follow up to the excellent 'Opus Nocturne'. Drummer-turned-vocalist Joakim AF Gravf has been replaced by Legion, formerly of Ophthalamia. This means that only Morgan is left from the original lineup when 'Fuck Me Jesus' was released back in 1991. Legion is a more aggressive vocalist than Joakim was. He snarls and growls along with the extremely fast musical style that Marduk have played for a long time, and he fits into the band perfectly. Once again, those of the unlight have put out a brilliant piece of work. A noteworthy song is 'Glorification Of The Black God', which starts of with the classical song 'Night On Bare Mountain', and then the guitars continue with what was originally an orchestral piece! It works great. Also worth mentioning is that evil genius IT provides the lyrics
for tracks 5 and 7. Track 5 begins a forthcoming collection of songs that depict the life and times of Vlad Dracul, with the rest of the story scheduled for release with the 'Nightwing' album. This is a superb album, different to the style of 'Opus Nocturne', but even more
blasphemous than ever. This is probably the best Marduk album to date.

My first reaction to this when I played it was something like "Wait a minute, this is a live album, and it doesn't suck. What's the catch?" This is a great live album from Swedish masters Marduk. 60 minutes of material spanning all the albums is what you will find on here. The production is very good for a live album, but there is no band-crowd interaction and most of the cheering has been faded out. Legion's vocals suit the old songs which were previously sung by Joakim, and how Fredrik survived the set without passing out is beyond me. He utterly destroys the drums for a whole hour, sounding no different from his studio drumming. This is a great album, it is what a live album should sound like, and many Black Metal bands should take note of this. If you are going to release a tour album, then do it properly. Excellent!

Can you believe this is Marduk's 9th release! It only seems like yesterday when their controversial, but truly amazing demo 'Fuck Me Jesus' came out. Anyway, this is a killer album from the Swedish killing machine that is Marduk. The first few tracks are typical of Marduk. By that, I mean extremely fast and intense with damn evil lyrics. However, the next section of tracks are stories, which illustrate the amazing life of Vlad Tepes. There really isn't much to say about this album, because it is fantastic, and going on and on will only lead to that fact anyway. If you like Marduk - you will already have this. If you are interested in Black Metal at all, then get this album, as it is a fine example of how things should be done. Truly amazing!
